Bring your furry friends because Dogs are Allowed at the Purple Pelican, an Oceanfront single family home much beloved by long time residents of Carolina Beach. You will be nestled into a one way street close to the Carolina Beach Farmer’s Market, Carolina Lake and Veggie Wagon. Enjoy raucous family time or quiet privacy undisturbed in your own covered porch with private sunken hot tub, and private boardwalk to the beach. This quintessential floorplan features a great room with four corner bedrooms and two jack n' jill bathrooms. Make your vacation simple, homey, cozy, and directly focused on the beach. Feel free to bring Grandparents, or recuperate from surgery here at the ocean: our front porch has a lift elevator! Take an easy stroll down the beach to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Enjoy the front seat view of weekly fireworks from our raised benches in the dunes. If you are staying in, cook in our fully equipped kitchen. The whole family will enjoy our games and puzzles; and children’s toys and books. You'll want to make this your forever vacation home: Purple Pelican is one of the last few remaining private beach cottages on the ocean front at Carolina Beach, just waiting to make you part of the family!

Ground Level:
Covered parking for 4-5 vehicles under the house and on the parking pad. Washer and Dryer closet. Stairs to beach boardwalk. Stairs to front porch. Elevator lift to front porch.

Level 2:

Kitchen: Fully equipped, Electric range with hood, Microwave, Side by side refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, hanging pot rack, seating for 4 at kitchen island.

Dining Area: Dining table with seating for 6

Living Room: New sectional sofa, side chairs, occasional tables, games and books, Smart TV with DVD player, entrance door to porch

Two bedrooms share Jack n Jill bathrooms on each side of living room:

Bedroom 1: Queen Bed, TV, Ceiling fan

Bathroom 1: Single Vanity, Bathtub with Shower, Toilet

Bedroom 2: Queen Bed, TV, Ceiling Fan, Oceanfront View

Bedroom 3: Two Twin Beds, TV, Ceiling Fan

Rental Policies:

In response to increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.

Arrival/Departure:
Summer Check-Ins (June-August) begin at 4:00 pm and are guaranteed by 6:00 pm
Off Season Check-Ins begin at 3:00 pm and are guaranteed by 5:00 pm
Check Out is by 10:00 am
We adhere to this policy so please do not arrive early early or plan to delay your departure.

Electronic Lock Entry.

House Rules:
No events such as weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, sororities/fraternities
No Smoking

Pet Policy:
Dogs Only Allowed. First Dog included. Subsequent dog will incur an extra fee.

This property is pet friendly, but Town of Carolina Beach pet rules must be followed.

Cancellation Policy:
- Free cancellation within 48 hours of booking
- After 48 hours of booking and more than 60 days out from arrival, a full refund will be processed less a $300 cancellation fee
- After 48 hours of booking and within 60 days of arrival, there will be no refund processed unless the dates are re rented. If premises are re rented, a refund will be processed less a $300 cancellation fee.

Adventure awaits. Discover aquatic wildlife and vegetation at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher or enjoy a relaxing ferry ride across the Cape Fear River to a quaint little shopping town called Southport. Take a trip back in time at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Museum which features live oak covered trails and bunkers from the American Civil War. Stroll through the marsh to visit the home of the famous Ft. Fisher Hermit. Or wind down with nature at our two state parks, sure to provide a memorable experience with hiking, fishing, and water activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking and search for a Venus Flytrap which is native to NC only. As one of North Carolina's most undeveloped beaches, the island offers a unique opportunity to see many diverse coastal wildlife, including pelicans and loggerhead sea turtles, in their natural habitat. Whether it’s exploring activities on the island, enjoying the ocean views, or enjoying a cocktail by sunset from your own private balcony, Pleasure Island offers diversion for every enthusiast!

During the summer months, the Boardwalk is bustling with the sound of music, carnival rides, bingo, family nights, and events like the weekly fireworks and concert series. Rent a Jeep, bicycle, or golf cart as the most convenient ways to navigate the island. Most everything was in walking distance! 07/22/2023

Very nice place. Very close to town. Most everything was in walking distance. House has all of the amenities you expect and was plenty large enough for six adults. Beach is large but can be crowded on some days since it is close to public access point. I would recommend using one of the umbrella/chair rental services to get your spot. Those worked well. Would definitely rent again. Purple Pelican

The perfect vacation house for my family! 10/05/2022

We only had a few days and decided quite spontaneously to come to the beach following Hurricane Ian because we saw the weather was so beautiful. We were delighted to find this sweet ocean front house was open for a last minute booking. I think it was because it is a new property so it wasn’t already booked. And, they took a short stay! So unusual with an ocean front house. We have kids and a dog, so we don’t like staying in condos where you have to go down long hallways and through a bunch of public spaces to get to the water. We were completely private and shot right out to the beach and the kids could be back and forth all day. The house is traditional and cozy. We will definitely be back!
