Welcome to Stella Maris: Our Oceanfront Family Home boasts multiple decks for outdoor living in the calmest part of Kure Beach in the beautiful neighborhood of Kure Dunes. Grill your dinner on our covered wrap-around porch. Every bedroom has an Ocean View! The kids and fishermen can walk ten short minutes up the beach to the famous Kure Beach Pier. Bring the whole family: Four Bedrooms and Four Bathrooms, plus a sofa bed, and a generously furnished living room to accommodate sleeping 12. Bring up to two *Under 30 pound* dogs for an extra fee. Don't worry about your luggage: you'll have generous closet space throughout.

Kitchen: Fully stocked, upgraded with granite countertops, Large center island, and upgraded stainless steel appliances.
Dining Area: Dining table seating for 6 and countertop seating for 4.

Hallway Bathroom 3: Fully remodeled 2024 - bathtub with tiled shower, single vanity, Toilet.
Primary Bedroom Suite: 1 King Bed, Double Nightstands, Soft Side Chair, Ceiling Fan, TV, Private Porch, Ensuite Bath
Ensuite Covered Porch: Pub Table and Stools
Ensuite Bathroom: Updated Large Tile Shower, Dressing Vanity with granite countertops. Wet bar, and Mini Fridge.

Parking:
Parking in garage for 1 small car, size dependent. Additional space for up to 2 vehicles in the driveway. No Parking In The Yard: Kure Dunes has a strict prohibition against parking in the grass. No trailers allowed.

Linens - Sheets and Towels will be wrapped in sealed packages and lying on the end of the beds.

Rental Policies:
In response to the increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.

Things to bring:
Paper towels and toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, detergents, minimal cleaning supplies, and beach towels.

Arrival/Departure:
Summer Check-ins (June-August) begin at 4 pm and are guaranteed by 6 pm
Check-out is by 10 am.
We adhere to this policy so please do not arrive early or plan to delay your departure.

House Rules:
No events such as weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, sororities/fraternities
No smoking
You must be at least 25 to rent this unit.

Pet Policy:
Up to two Small dogs allowed, up to 30lbs each. The first dog is included in the price of the Rental. Subsequent dogs are subject to an additional payment and restrictions! Carolina and Kure Beaches are pet-friendly, but you must follow town guidelines. Please check the town website for beach pet restrictions.

Cancellation Policy:
We want to make sure you’re aware of our cancellation policy. If you cancel when your arrival date is more than 60 days away, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel when your arrival date is less than 60 days away, you will forfeit your deposit.

Things to do:
Adventure awaits. Discover aquatic wildlife and vegetation at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher or enjoy a relaxing ferry ride across the Cape Fear River to a quaint little shopping town called Southport. Take a trip back in time at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Museum, which features live oak-covered trails and bunkers from the American Civil War. Stroll through the marsh to visit the home of the famous Ft. Fisher Hermit. Or wind down with nature at our two state parks, sure to provide a memorable experience with hiking, fishing, and water activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking, and search for a Venus Flytrap which is native to NC only. As one of North Carolina's most undeveloped beaches, the island offers a unique opportunity to see many diverse coastal wildlife, including pelicans and loggerhead sea turtles, in their natural habitat. Whether it’s exploring activities on the island, enjoying the ocean views, or enjoying a cocktail by sunset from your own private balcony, Pleasure Island offers diversion for every enthusiast!
Explore the treasures of Carolina Beach, ranked one of the top 10 boardwalks in the country by Food & Wine magazine. One of the last remaining beach boardwalks on the East Coast, it includes a variety of restaurants, an arcade, shops, ice cream, Famous Britts Donuts, bars, and more! During the summer months, the Boardwalk is bustling with the sound of music, carnival rides, bingo, family nights, and events like the weekly fireworks and concert series. Annual off-season events include the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival.

History lovers can walk the scenic, live‑oak‑lined trails of the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, where Civil War bunkers still stand. Nature enthusiasts will love the island’s two state‑managed coastal preserves: Carolina Beach State Park, home to rare Venus flytraps found naturally only in this region, and the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, known for pristine beaches, marshes, and wildlife viewing. Getting Around

Getting around Pleasure Island is a breeze! While parking can be limited in peak season, especially in popular spots, paid private or public parking is available. We recommend exploring Carolina Beach and Kure Beach on foot or by bike – they're super walkable and bike-friendly. You'll find safe pedestrian and bike routes, including the Island Greenway. Renting a golf cart or bike is easy, too, with several local rental companies. Golf carts are one of the easiest ways to cruise around the island. Rentals are simple to arrange, and once you're behind the wheel, you can zip along any road posted 35 mph or under.

Fabulous Family Vacation Destination

"The Stella Maris has absolutely ruined us for anything other than a beachfront stay from here on out! The house was spacious and accommodated our family of seven well: six adults and one tween. The bedrooms and bathrooms were roomy and provided plenty of storage for all of our gear. (The hand soap in all of the bathrooms was a plus!) The balcony off of the third floor master bedroom conveniently allowed for gorgeous sunrise views, as well as from the oceanfront porches on the second floor. We were spoiled by the beautiful ocean views from all the bedrooms and kitchen/living room. The covered porches were well loved and used by our crew from morning to night, with plenty of comfortable seating for lounging or enjoying an outdoor meal, a great option for those who needed a break from the sand and sun. The private walkway to the beach was easy to navigate, even for those unsteady on their feet. The kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes, flatware, cookware, storage containers and even spices and seasonings needed during our stay including other thoughtful extras such as scissors, batteries, Sharpie pins, which were appreciated. There were plenty of outlets to accommodate charging all of our devices (including hidden outlets on the bar). The living room was also well stocked with games and puzzles for the whole family and the best puzzling table ever (with which I'm obsessed)! The glass-top round table with short rounded-triangular padded stools that store underneath when not in use, or can be pulled out to double as footrests for those seated on the sofas or chairs was perfect. There was also a variety of adult books (several Stephen King titles and other thrillers) in the living room and several young children's books in the twin room (I would recommend tween readers bring their own). The property's location is excellent: easy to find, close to attractions and shopping, and the stretch of beach in front of the house was never crowded, even over a holiday (Memorial Day) weekend! The beach gear provided was in great condition and very much appreciated. We especially appreciated that the lifeguard station was right out front - providing an extra layer of security and added protection. We would highly recommend the Stella Maris to other families of similar make-up/size!

"Our three generation family of 10 enjoyed our week at Stella Maris. Everything was as promised--the house was spacious and well stocked; the ocean views from the porch and the balconies were unbelievable; the beach, of course, was delightful, and the beach access was so easy with four toddlers! Even our dog enjoyed her morning and evening romps on the beach! We enjoyed cooking and eating together in the kitchen, and we will always remember our little girls dancing on the deck! Stella Maris is very comfortable, and a wonderful place to gather for a family reunion. We all hope to return again and again! Thank you for sharing your beautiful beach home!

"We had an absolutely amazing week at Stella Maris. The House was beautiful!!! The views were amazing!!! We enjoyed being able to stay in a beach town that was not overcrowded!!! I loved the fact that the lifeguards were literally where we camped out each day. We didn’t even know how much comfort the gated yard would be bringing two pups❤️!!! The neighbors were just Lovely, spoke to us and were so friendly!!! Kure Beach is a hidden paradise! We enjoyed people watching from the oceanfront porch!!! I didn’t realize we were next to the private community beach access. We Really enjoyed being there. There was very little traffic and everyone who came by said hello 👋😄!!! Sea Coast rentals answered the phone in two rings 🤩 when I had a small question. They were extremely helpful and very pleasant to talk to. House location was Perfect!!! Far enough away but close to everything also!!! 10⭐️’s if I could ❤️!!! We plan on renting the same house next year!!! ❤️Megan

"Great stay! This house is on a very quiet stretch of Kure Beach (we have stayed in this general area 3 years in a row) -- it's feels close to having a private beach, but still walking distance to the pier and center of town. Great views from the many decks and outdoor areas, plus private boardwalk to the sand. The house was clean and well appointed -- the kitchen has just about every gadget you could possibly need. Sea Coast Rentals was also very responsive in fixing a few minor issues with the outdoor furniture. Thank you!

"This was a wonderful place for a family vacation! Loved that it had a fenced yard for kids and dogs, as well as a gate on the private boardwalk to the beach. Gorgeous views of the beach and ocean throughout the house and covered balconies! It was a perfect spot on the beach, not too many people around, even with a public beach access right next to the house. Kitchen had everything we needed to make family meals. One drawback was the shower/tub in the main floor bathroom was small and not renovated. Overall we had a great stay and would stay again!
