Things to do:
Adventure awaits. Discover aquatic wildlife and vegetation at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher or enjoy a relaxing ferry ride across the Cape Fear River to a quaint little shopping town called Southport. Take a trip back in time at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Museum, which features live oak-covered trails and bunkers from the American Civil War. Stroll through the marsh to visit the home of the famous Ft. Fisher Hermit. Or wind down with nature at our two state parks, sure to provide a memorable experience with hiking, fishing, and water activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking, and search for a Venus Flytrap which is native to NC only. As one of North Carolina's most undeveloped beaches, the island offers a unique opportunity to see many diverse coastal wildlife, including pelicans and loggerhead sea turtles, in their natural habitat. Whether it’s exploring activities on the island, enjoying the ocean views, or enjoying a cocktail by sunset from your own private balcony, Pleasure Island offers diversion for every enthusiast!
Explore the treasures of Carolina Beach, ranked one of the top 10 boardwalks in the country by Food & Wine magazine. One of the last remaining beach boardwalks on the East Coast, it includes a variety of restaurants, an arcade, shops, ice cream, Famous Britts Donuts, bars, and more! During the summer months, the Boardwalk is bustling with the sound of music, carnival rides, bingo, family nights, and events like the weekly fireworks and concert series. Annual off-season events include the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival.
We look forward to you visiting us!

Neighborhood

Adventure awaits on Pleasure Island. Exploring the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, home to incredible coastal wildlife, or take the scenic car ferry across the Cape Fear River for a relaxing visit to the charming town of Southport where quaint streets are filled with unique antique shops and galleries. History lovers can walk the scenic, live‑oak‑lined trails of the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, where Civil War bunkers still stand. Nature enthusiasts will love the island’s two state‑managed coastal preserves: Carolina Beach State Park, home to rare Venus flytraps found naturally only in this region, and the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, known for pristine beaches, marshes, and wildlife viewing. Both offer beautiful opportunities for hiking, paddling, fishing, and spotting pelicans or even nesting loggerhead sea turtles.

After a day outdoors, unwind on your private balcony with a sunset cocktail, or head into town to explore the best of Carolina Beach. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk, ranked one of the Top 10 Boardwalks in the U.S. by Food & Wine, features classic seaside fun—local restaurants, an arcade, ice cream shops, bars, and the famous Britt’s Donuts. In summer, enjoy weekly fireworks and live entertainment, carnival rides, family nights, and Flamingo BINGO. Off‑season brings signature island events like the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival. Pleasure Island offers something unforgettable for every traveler—adventure, relaxation, and the perfect coastal escape.

Other Things To Note

Getting Around

Getting around Pleasure Island is a breeze! While parking can be limited in peak season, especially in popular spots, paid private or public parking is available. We recommend exploring Carolina Beach and Kure Beach on foot or by bike – they're super walkable and bike-friendly. You'll find safe pedestrian and bike routes, including the Island Greenway. Renting a golf cart or bike is easy, too, with several local rental companies. Golf carts are one of the easiest ways to cruise around the island. Rentals are simple to arrange, and once you're behind the wheel, you can zip along any road posted 35 mph or under.

What a stay!

Review Date: September 23, 2026

Vacation Date: December 26, 2025

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful beach rental in Carolina Beach! We visited in December and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and enjoyable getaway. The location was perfect—being right by the beach made it so easy to enjoy the beautiful views, peaceful walks, and gorgeous coastal scenery, even in the winter. The property was clean, comfortable, welcoming, and had everything we needed for a great stay. You could really tell that the owners put thought and care into making their guests feel at home. December turned out to be a fantastic time to visit. The beach was peaceful and uncrowded, and there was something so special about enjoying the ocean without the summer crowds. We loved being able to slow down, relax, and take in the beauty of the coast. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing beach getaway. Five stars all around!

"The condo was very clean , spacious and had everything we needed . Waking up to the gorgeous view every morning was definitely a highlight even for our teenage son . The beach access was fantastic and just a short easy walk to the sand. The only thing to be aware if you work from home like we do is the wifi was a bit slow . And if you're planning to rent a golf cart be sure to rent a gas powered one as there isn't an outlet to charge an electric golf cart. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Great location

Vacation Date: June 14, 2025

"Great location. Overall the condo was nice but you could tell it was older and had been updated in the last several years. We did have a problem with sugar ants. Also the parking was a little difficult because the unit’s parking space was close to the others leaving little room to maneuver.

Just Right!

Review Date: November 7, 2025

Vacation Date: June 28, 2025

"Easy entry for property. Close enough to everything. Clean all around. Easiest access to beach. The location is busy over 4th of July and is noisy. Only complaint would be the mirrors were shorter than a few of us and kitchen faucet has low pressure, but I think it’s a faucet issue. Would stay her again anytime!

Perfect location

Review Date: November 7, 2025

Vacation Date: August 28, 2025

"First time visiting Carolina beach and all I can saw is wow. The location was perfect, the condo was clean with an awesome view. We could walk to anything we wanted and the beach was amazing with very little crowd. This may be our new vacation spot as the entire family had the best time just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Our only complaint was that you could hear all of the noise from neighbors, and you can hear and fell all the footsteps above as we had a big group staying above us with kids so there was a lot of step noise, but not enough to kill our good vibes.
