Take a short, relaxing stroll to the heart of the lively boardwalk for morning donuts or evening fireworks, or grab a bike and explore the island at your own pace. With the beach just steps away and the quiet charm of the North End surrounding you, lasting family memories aren't just possible—they’re inevitable. Surf, sand, and that "stay forever" feeling are yours for the taking at The Scallop.

Ground Level:
Enclosed single car garage and tandem parking for up to four total vehicles. Garage includes beach wagon and gear, ping pong table, a full size extra refrigerator and freezer, and two adult bicycles for exploring Pleasure Island.

Parking:
One car may park in the garage under the building. A second vehicle may park in front of the garage and up to two additional vehicles can park in tandem to the right of the driveway. For additional parking options, please visit the Town of Carolina Beach website. Note that Town parking at the Scallop Beach entrance area is designated for paid golf carts only.

Linens - Sheets and Towels will be wrapped in sealed packages on the end of the beds.

Rental Policies:
In response to the increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.

Things to bring:
Paper towels and toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, detergents, minimal cleaning supplies, and beach towels.

Arrival/Departure:
Summer Check-ins (June-August) begin at 4 pm and are guaranteed by 6 pm.
Check-out is by 10 am.
We adhere to this policy, so please do not arrive early or plan to delay your departure.

Guest Access:
Electronic Lock Entry.

House Rules:
No events such as weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, sororities/fraternities
No smoking
You must be at least 25 to rent this unit.

Pet Policy:
No pets allowed. Owner has dogs.

Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel when your arrival date is more than 60 days away, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel when your arrival date is less than 60 days away, you will forfeit your deposit.

Exploring the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, home to incredible coastal wildlife, or take the scenic car ferry across the Cape Fear River for a relaxing visit to the charming town of Southport where quaint streets are filled with unique antique shops and galleries. History lovers can walk the scenic, live‑oak‑lined trails of the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, where Civil War bunkers still stand. Nature enthusiasts will love the island’s two state‑managed coastal preserves: Carolina Beach State Park, home to rare Venus flytraps found naturally only in this region, and the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, known for pristine beaches, marshes, and wildlife viewing. Both offer beautiful opportunities for hiking, paddling, fishing, and spotting pelicans or even nesting loggerhead sea turtles.

Getting Around

Getting around Pleasure Island is a breeze! While parking can be limited in peak season, especially in popular spots, paid private or public parking is available. We recommend exploring Carolina Beach and Kure Beach on foot or by bike – they're super walkable and bike-friendly. You'll find safe pedestrian and bike routes, including the Island Greenway. Renting a golf cart or bike is easy, too, with several local rental companies. Golf carts are one of the easiest ways to cruise around the island. Rentals are simple to arrange, and once you're behind the wheel, you can zip along any road posted 35 mph or under.

"We first visited the Scallop during COVID-19 with our 9-month-old. After a particularly cold and dreary winter up north, we remembered our trip to Carolina Beach and decided to book again with our now 5 1/2-year-old and 4-year-old to get the perfect glimpse of summer. This place is so nice and accommodating.

"This was our first time back since 2021 and our first time staying on the north end. This property was perfect. The location was perfect. We went to Buzz Roost on the boardwalk for the mahi BLT — perfection. Nollie’s Taco Joint for nachos and chicken tacos was great, and the Thursday fireworks were awesome to watch from the porch.”

"Guys weekend offshore fishing trip, but we could not get out to the Gulf Stream due to weather. We made the best of it with a great property, food, drinks and laughter. Enjoyed SeaWitch, and 115 Scallop is an amazing rental.

"We absolutely loved your comfortable townhome. We had everything we needed and more. The best beds, best location and walkable to everything. Our highlights included beach yoga with visiting dolphins, a great dinner at Fish Bites, donuts from Britt’s — yum — and SeaWitch for live music, plus the unique dive bar The Fat Pelican. The weather cooperated most of the stay, and we loved having beach items available.
