Neighborhood

Adventure awaits on Pleasure Island. Exploring the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, home to incredible coastal wildlife, or take the scenic car ferry across the Cape Fear River for a relaxing visit to the charming town of Southport where quaint streets are filled with unique antique shops and galleries. History lovers can walk the scenic, live‑oak‑lined trails of the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, where Civil War bunkers still stand. Nature enthusiasts will love the island’s two state‑managed coastal preserves: Carolina Beach State Park, home to rare Venus flytraps found naturally only in this region, and the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, known for pristine beaches, marshes, and wildlife viewing. Both offer beautiful opportunities for hiking, paddling, fishing, and spotting pelicans or even nesting loggerhead sea turtles.

After a day outdoors, unwind on your private balcony with a sunset cocktail, or head into town to explore the best of Carolina Beach. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk, ranked one of the Top 10 Boardwalks in the U.S. by Food & Wine, features classic seaside fun—local restaurants, an arcade, ice cream shops, bars, and the famous Britt’s Donuts. In summer, enjoy weekly fireworks and live entertainment, carnival rides, family nights, and Flamingo BINGO. Off‑season brings signature island events like the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival. Pleasure Island offers something unforgettable for every traveler—adventure, relaxation, and the perfect coastal escape.

Other Things To Note

You must be at least 25 years of age to book this property.

Getting Around

Getting around Pleasure Island is a breeze! While parking can be limited in peak season, especially in popular spots, paid private or public parking is available. We recommend exploring Carolina Beach and Kure Beach on foot or by bike – they're super walkable and bike-friendly. You'll find safe pedestrian and bike routes, including the Island Greenway. Renting a golf cart or bike is easy, too, with several local rental companies. Golf carts are one of the easiest ways to cruise around the island. Rentals are simple to arrange, and once you're behind the wheel, you can zip along any road posted 35 mph or under.

Very clean and spacious!

"This property was very well described and the location is great! It was very clean and spacious! A very easy and short walk to the public beach access. Only one main street to cross. There are no stairs at the beach access, so a wagon would have been great to load and bring beach gear. I would definitely stay here again and appreciate the fast communication with Sea Coast Rentals. (This property is managed by a rental company and not the owner.) Our only request would have been a spot for extra parking. Only two cars can be parked at the house and the extra car had to be moved around at the pay to park spaces. The house and the beach were great spots!

Response from Sea Coast Rentals:
The great description is in it's name COMFORT ZONE!!! We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay. Sadly limited parking is an island wide challenge.

Wonderful property

"Loved the house and its proximity to the beach/public beach access. Check in/check out was super easy. Only had one issue with the stay: one kitchen drawer had been filled too heavily with items, and broke due to the weight. Everything else was great

Great Location

Vacation Date: June 12, 2021

"Great location to the beach, shopping and even Wilmington. The townhouse fit 8 adults, 1 toddler and 2 babies without a problem. Make sure you have a fan for the room that used to be the garage. It does not have a A/C vent. Plenty of kitchen items for easy cooking at home. The pool was great for the kids and the short walk to the beach was super easy. The unit was clean. It was nice that bath towels and sheets came with the reservation. Easy to rent beach equipment from a local vendor. Grocery store was within 10 minutes and they had everything we needed. Had to take a quick trip to Wal Mart in Wilmington and that was no problem either. The beach was clean and water was perfect. We did go to Carolina Beach one night. The rides finally opened, post-COVID, on 6/17.

"we stayed there during memorial weekend and had a good experience .The property listing was pretty accurate and we were arriving pretty late but check in which went very smooth . The agents were very responsive and gave all details. The house is clean except tht we found 2-3 dead roaches. The location very good as the kure beach is 100 feet away across the road and was not very crowded even during memorial weekend. The house has ocean peak from one of the balconies. We did nt tried the inhouse pool but saw other families there. We spend lot of time on Myrtle beach,SC which was 2 hours drive from here. Check out instructions were clear and we had a good time overall
