Neighborhood

Adventure awaits on Pleasure Island. Exploring the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, home to incredible coastal wildlife, or take the scenic car ferry across the Cape Fear River for a relaxing visit to the charming town of Southport where quaint streets are filled with unique antique shops and galleries. History lovers can walk the scenic, live‑oak‑lined trails of the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, where Civil War bunkers still stand. Nature enthusiasts will love the island’s two state‑managed coastal preserves: Carolina Beach State Park, home to rare Venus flytraps found naturally only in this region, and the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, known for pristine beaches, marshes, and wildlife viewing. Both offer beautiful opportunities for hiking, paddling, fishing, and spotting pelicans or even nesting loggerhead sea turtles.

After a day outdoors, unwind on your private balcony with a sunset cocktail, or head into town to explore the best of Carolina Beach. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk, ranked one of the Top 10 Boardwalks in the U.S. by Food & Wine, features classic seaside fun—local restaurants, an arcade, ice cream shops, bars, and the famous Britt’s Donuts. In summer, enjoy weekly fireworks and live entertainment, carnival rides, family nights, and Flamingo BINGO. Off‑season brings signature island events like the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival. Pleasure Island offers something unforgettable for every traveler—adventure, relaxation, and the perfect coastal escape.

Other Things To Note

You must be at least 25 years of age to book this property.

Getting Around

Getting around Pleasure Island is a breeze! While parking can be limited in peak season, especially in popular spots, paid private or public parking is available. We recommend exploring Carolina Beach and Kure Beach on foot or by bike – they're super walkable and bike-friendly. You'll find safe pedestrian and bike routes, including the Island Greenway. Renting a golf cart or bike is easy, too, with several local rental companies. Golf carts are one of the easiest ways to cruise around the island. Rentals are simple to arrange, and once you're behind the wheel, you can zip along any road posted 35 mph or under.

Amazing view!

"Property was great, view absolutely amazing. Keep in mind this is on the top floor there are a lot of stairs to carry all your belongings up and down, groceries up, taking out the trash and carrying all things you need on the beach. While we were there, there were people parking on the side right behind the parking spot which you have room but a little tight when it was trucks parked there. I would recommend this property and would stay here again.

Relaxation!

Review Date: July 20, 2025

Vacation Date: July 12, 2025

"This was a very clean and comfortable place.. perfect for our family of 4 and parents. The views were amazing.. and the beach access was super convenient. We loved playing around the rocks at low tide since it made the perfect tide pools and the kids enjoyed snorkeling around it them. The kitchen had what we needed to cook meals. The pool closest to us was just a minute or so walk across street. Check in/out was easy and so was communication from realty. We loved staying here and can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful location, and exactly as described.

Review Date: July 20, 2021

Vacation Date: June 26, 2021

"Wonderful location, and exactly as described. Property is now managed by a company, but they also were kind and helpful with any issues. Wait N Sea was plenty big enough for our group of 8. The kids took turns on the pull out so they could all have a turn falling asleep listening to the ocean. Very clean and quiet. Our teenagers were a little bored but the adults loved being away from the hustle of the boardwalk (5 miles away). A tip in general for future tenants....get a golf cart for your stay! They come with a parking permit and it's just easy fun for the kids!

Vacation Date: May 5, 2021

"We enjoyed our stay so much! A fully furnished kitchen helped us to be able to have more time as a family and not having to leave the beach. We enjoyed the recreation center. Nice pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and bathroom. Very clean. All of this at a good and decent price. Possibly returning in the future.
